GeoForm 2014 exhibitors demonstrated technological novelties for geodesy and cartography

11th International exhibition of geodesy, cartography and geographic information systems GeoForm was held in Pavilion 75 of All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow on October 14 – 16, 2014. The event was organized by International Exhibition Company MVK as part of the ITE Group, the leader of the Russian market of exhibition services.

GeoForm is the only exhibition held in the central region of Russia in the field of   geodesy, cartography and geographic information systems where newly-designed equipment, services and technologies from the leading manufacturers and distributors are presented. 1 657 industry experts from 46 regions of Russia and 16 countries worldwide got acquainted with GeoForm exposition this year. International exhibition for gas-powered vehicle technologies GasSuf and International exhibition of equipment and technologies for urban planning, energy supply and urban infrastructure CityExpo were held at the same time with GeoForm on one venue.

Exhibitors of GeoForm 2014 demonstrated new geodesic equipment, integrated solutions in the field of surveys, design, general layout and linear facilities, software solutions for geodesy, construction, engineering, tacheometers, geoinformation systems (GIS) and Earth's remote sensing (ERS) systems, GPS navigators, 3D visualization systems, laser scanning systems, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, transport monitoring equipment, aerial survey systems and other equipment. Topcon, Leica Geosystems, Trimble, Nikon, Spectra, Geomax and SOUTH were presented among the leading brands at the exhibition.

The exhibition exposition consisted of 3 topical sections:

  • Technologies and equipment for geodesy, geology and geophysics
  • Areas research & modeling, cartography, remote sensing
  • Geoinformation systems

The exhibition visitors had an opportunity to get acquainted with modern geodesic equipment from the leading manufacturers.

Trimble demonstrated Trimble MX2 portable data acquisition system. It is a 3D visualization system to be installed on vehicles. The system combines high-resolution laser scanning and precise positioning for capturing point clouds using geotagging.

At Geostroyizyskaniya stand visitors could familiarize with IP-S2 compact+ portable laser scanning system.

A new Persistent Change Monitoring (PCM) System was demonstrated by Sovzond. Integration of Rapid PCM system is now possible due to a vast data archive containing data from RapidEye multispectral satellites, their high resolution and capability to perform operating multiple space survey of large territories. Using RapidEye images and PCM system users can identify even small changes in objects for map updating up to scale 1:5000.

GEOSIGNAL presented a new generation of equipment: TELSS-402 and TELSS-403 telemetry seismic shooting systems. It is a conceptually new and the most up-to-date seismic equipment having a variety of undeniable advantages in comparison to other seismic systems currently manufactured both in Russia and abroad.

Unmanned Systems Group demonstrated a contemporary solution for producing high quality orthophotomaps, DSMs and DTMs using Supercam aerial survey systems.

Business Programme

International conference “Geospatial Data and Its Applications” organized by Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK), International Exhibition Company MVK part of the ITE Group, “Geoprofi” scientific and technical magazine with the support of the Consortium on Issues of Personnel Strategy of Cartographo-Geodetic Support of Social and Economic Development, Defence and Security of the Russian Federation caught profound interest among the industry professionals.

A plenary session was held on the first day of the exhibition work. Experts attending this event discussed process solutions in the field of geodesy, cartography, geographic information systems and remote sensing as well as existing and promising fields of application. Experts focused on issues of use of topographic air survey systems based on manned and unmanned aircrafts as well as testing, organization and conduct of air surveys. The meeting attendees also considered a relevant topic: "From 3D measurements to 3D information modeling of design, construction and operation projects". 230 specialists took part in the conference in total.

The exhibition was held with the support of Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK), FSBI "Federal Research and Development Center for Geodesy, Cartography and Spatial Data Infrastructure" and Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (ROSREESTR).

12th International exhibition of geodesy, cartography and geographic information systems GeoForm 2015 will be held in Pavilion 75 of All-Russian Exhibition Centre on October 13 – 15.
